At Number 1 (Australia), our passion for pets goes beyond providing top-quality pet and vet products. We believe that caring for our animals should also mean caring for the world they live in. That's why our motto, "Healthy Pets, Healthy People, Healthy Planet," is at the heart of everything we do.
Supporting Local and Australian Made Brands
We are proud to support local businesses by prioritising Australian-made products. By keeping our supply chain close to home, we not only boost the local economy but also reduce our carbon footprint. This commitment ensures that your pets receive the best, while also supporting our community.Â

Plastic-Free Packaging
Our dedication to sustainability is further exemplified through our Reuse, Recycle, and Reduce – Waste Exchange Program for packaging materials. In our effort to minimise environmental impact, we have reduced plastics from our packaging in our warehouses. Instead, we use a cardboard perforator to create eco-friendly packaging materials. This switch significantly reduces waste and supports our planet’s health. We also promote environmental education and awareness among our customers and partners.
Recycling Programs
We are striving to implement a Community Waste Exchange Program with local businesses close to our warehouses in WA and VIC. The aim of this recovery pathway is to extend the life of as many packaging materials as we can through multiple uses prior to recycling. We are compiling a list of all the local businesses who are wanting to participate by sharing recycling assorted waste materials such as: void fill, paper, cardboard, wood, bottles, plastics, and cans.Â
Environmentally Preferable Purchasing
We are committed to purchasing only environmentally preferable products. This includes everything from office supplies to warehouse materials. By choosing low-impact products, we contribute to a healthier planet while maintaining the quality and safety of our services and supplies.Â
Employee Education and Training
Education is key to sustainable practices. We offer training programs and sessions to educate our employees on proper recycling and composting practices, resource conservation, and the importance of purchasing low-toxicity products. These initiatives ensure that our team is well-informed and actively contributing to our environmental goals.
At Number 1 (Australia), we believe that a healthier planet starts with each of us. Our comprehensive approach to sustainability ensures that we are doing our part to protect the environment while providing the best for your clients and their pets. Together, we can make a difference – for our pets, for ourselves, and for the planet.
